It was such an inspiring day at the Chapter Chairs’ Annual Meeting and the 2026 Annual Dinner of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA), which I had the privilege of attending in my capacity as Founding Chairperson of ISCA Philippines.
It was wonderful to reconnect with fellow ISCA overseas chapter leaders Manish Gidwani, FCCA, MSc, CA, CPA (Aust.),ASEAN CPA of Indonesia, Ernest Yoong of Vietnam, Ken Lai of Malaysia, and Lynn Chen of China, exchange perspectives on the evolving business landscape, and discuss how our profession can continue to create value in an increasingly dynamic and technology-driven world, a discussion led by ISCA CEO Fann Kor and ISCA Director for International Affairs Wei Luo Tan.
Among the highlights of this year’s gathering was the launch of ISCA’s AI Fluency Programme — a significant step towards preparing accountants for the future of the profession.
As artificial intelligence continues to transform finance, audit, advisory, and business decision-making, AI fluency is becoming an essential skill for every professional accountant. The programme aims to empower members with the knowledge and practical understanding to leverage AI responsibly, improve productivity, enhance decision-making, and navigate the governance and ethical considerations that accompany emerging technologies.
The accounting profession has always evolved alongside innovation. Today, our opportunity is not merely to adapt to AI, but to harness it to deliver deeper insights, greater efficiency, and more meaningful impact for businesses and society.
Congratulations to ISCA for this forward-looking initiative and for its continued leadership in developing globally relevant and future-ready professionals.
Truly, the future belongs not to accountants or AI, but to accountants who are AI fluent.
