Honored yet humbled to receive this Presidential Award from PICPA National President, Atty Randy Blanza, for the significant accomplishment in contribution to the success of PICPA Year 2023-2024 as the Chairperson of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee.
As the Chair of the CSR Committee, our breakthrough accomplishment is focused on the welfare of the senior citizens of the country. PICPA successfully forged an agreement with the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC), focusing on senior citizens serving as beacons for younger generations, making themselves support a paradigm shift that they are not just takers of senior citizen discounts, perks and privileges but rather they are givers of care and love, sharers of ability and capability, and that they are contributors to nation building. Through this initiative, PICPA organizes a pool of CPA senior citizen resource speakers to serve the training needs of the local associations of senior citizens nationwide. PICPA formulates training designs that will focus on strengthening and sharing the core competencies of CPAs such as but not limited to bookkeeping, budgeting, tax compliance, etc., all to be provided by PICPA free of charge to the NCSC.
Having parents who are already senior citizens, this project is so precious to me. I thank PICPA President Randy and the PICPA Board and my team for supporting this brainchild project, something so tangible and lasting, not a usual dole out project. I thank also the 2024-2025 PICPA National President, Atty Roland Pondoc, for believing this project and for carrying this over to his administration. As I mentioned in my speech, “this PICPA project is a legacy so beautiful, it is a dream come true.” Moreover, as an offshoot of this initiative, PICPA has declared all active CPAs above 65 years old as lifetime members. What a way to end my term as CSR Chair! God is good
