The Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accoutants (PICPA) Annual Ball is not only a celebration of fellowship within the profession but also a meaningful moment to recognize leaders who have dedicated a year of governance in service to PICPA members and to the public interest.
Behind every award is a year of difficult decisions, volunteer hours, collaborations with partners and stakeholders, and a shared commitment to uphold the integrity and relevance of the accountancy profession. Deeply honored to accept this recognition as Chairperson of the International Affairs of PICPA under the presidency of Atty. Roland Pondoc. This role was never about visibility, it was about building bridges. Over the past years, we focused on strengthening PICPA’s rapport and meaningful engagement with our global partners including IFAC, Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA), and ASEAN Federation of Accountants, while ensuring that Filipino accountants working across 19 jurisdictions continue to feel connected, represented, and proud of their professional home.
International affairs is, at its heart, about stewardship – nurturing trust, fostering collaboration, and ensuring that the voice of our profession remains respected both locally and globally. I share this recognition with the many colleagues and volunteers who quietly worked behind the scenes to open doors, sustain dialogue, and support our members outside the Philippines.
